Tuesday July 4, 2023 the Metro Line 4 (the blue line) was finally inaugurated until "San Babila" brand new station.
Piazza San Babila is in the heart of Milano historical center and it is at a walking distance of less than 10 minutes from the Duomo Cathedral.
This brand new subway is directly accessible from inside the arrival terminal of Linate Airport, the city airport of Milano.
The regular travel time of this driverless metro from Linate to Piazza San Babila is about 12 minutes, this means that you can get from the airport to the Duomo in about 20 minutes in total.
In San Babila station the Metro Line 4 is directly connected to the Metro Line 1 (the red line) which is reaching most main points of interest in Milano and crossing all other Metro lines as well (2, 3, 5).
OPERATING HOURS:
- Monday to Thursday: 6am - 10pm
- Friday to Sunday: 6am - 1230am
TICKETS (as of July 2023):
- Regular 90 Minutes ticket: EUR 2.20
- 24 Hours ticket: EUR 7.60
- 3 Days ticket: EUR 13
- Carnet of 10 tickets of 90 minutes: EUR 19.50
The same ticket can be used more than once for other metro lines and for any other public transport, including surface (bus, tram), until its validity.
Ticket machines are available at any station, however the most efficient ticket solution is to tap your contactless credit/debit card at the accesses. In Milano "Pay as You Go" is available on all public transport and then your card is your ticket.
