The Basilica of Saint Ambrose (Basilica di Sant’Ambrogio) is one of the oldest churches in Milano and it is considered the second most important after the DuomoIt was commissioned by St. Ambrose, now the Saint Patron of Milano, back in the 4th Century with the first name of “Basilica Martyrum”.

Across many centuries its appearance has undergone several changes: restorations, destructions, bombings, reconstructions. The current appearance is the one of the 12th century: Ancient Romanesque.

NO TICKET NEEDED:

The individual visit of the Basilica is free and there is no need to book. However we strongly recommend to check opening times on the official website: Basilicasantambrogio.it
