Sharing mobility is fairly widespread in Milano. Car sharing, bike sharing, scooter sharing, moto sharing are part of the city culture since few years now.

In Milano there are some traffic limitations and restrictions that may be applicable to certain vehicles, city areas, times and parkings. The details of those limitations would need a dedicated article, however let’s say that sharing mobility is certainly a very smart option if you are looking for an alternative to public transport and taxi. In fact sharing vehicles are exempted from most limitations and restrictions.

Sharing Mobility in Milano is driven by mobile applications. Each service has its own app, however there are app that aggregate multiple services. My personal preference goes to an app called URBI that aggregates most of the options and it’s working very well.

All operators are currently investing to convert their vehicles fleet to electric, some of them are already 100% full electric

My observation is that the availability of bikes, motorbikes and scooters is very good. Availability of cars is not great, but still reasonable.

Examples of sharing mobility operators in Milano (operating at the time of this post):

Car Sharing: Enjoy, Sharenow, Zity, e-Go Drivalia,  E-VAI

Bike, Motorbike and Scooter Sharing: BikeMI (by the Municipality of Milano), MoBike, Ridemovi, Dott, Lime, Tier, Bird, Zig Zag, Cooltra, CityScoot, Helbiz, Augment
